English Language Requirements

Students who have one of the following will not be required to provide IELTS.

Hong Kong HKCEE in English (Syllabus B) at grades A-C
Hong Kong AS level in English at grades A-E
Evidence that they have studied and been examined in the medium of English for 2 years prior to their application

Students who do not have any of the above, must provide IELTS :

International Foundation Certificate	IELTS 5.0 - 6.0 or equivalent
Undergraduate and Postgraduate Studies	IELTS 6.0 - 6.5 (depends on subjects)

Accommodation

All international students are guaranteed University Accommodation throughout their course.
All the halls at De Montfort offer self-catered accommodation and are located on or near the City Campus. There are a variety of shops, bars and leisure facilities within walking distance of the halls.
Internet access and en-suite facilities available in the majority of halls.

Entry Criteria

Bachelors Degree	Honours degrees are equivalent to UK Bachelor (Honours) degree. Will be considered for postgraduate studies.
Hong Kong Advanced Level (HKAL)	HKALE are equivalent to GCE A levels (except in Mathematics and some science subjects, where we recognise that C-grade in HKALE is equivalent to B-grade at GCE A level). Grade requirements for our Bachelor Degree programmes can be found in the University’s undergraduate prospectus. (2 AS-Levels may substitute for one A-Level)
Hong Kong Advanced Supplementary Level (HK AS level)	HK AS level are equivalent to UK AS level.
International Baccalaureate (IB)	Will be considered for admission to our Bachelor degree programmes. Average points required is 24.
Higher Diploma (HD)	Will be considered for entry to year 3 of Bachelor degree programmes. Will be considered for entry to the Pre-Master in business.
Associate Degree (AD)	Will normally be considered for entry to year 2 of Bachelor degree programmes. Entry to the final year is considered on an individual basis.
Hong Kong Certificate of Education Examination (HKCEE)	HKCEE grades are equivalent to GCSE grades. Will be considered for Foundation Certificate. A good profile in 5 subjects is required.
